Why we do it.

If you intend to export health products, there are requirements that you need to meet. Before you export, as well as meeting your own countries requirements for your products, you may also need to meet destination country requirements. This is often made easier through specific agreements between countries. Sometimes when you export food or food-related products, you need a document certifying that your export consignment meets certain requirements.

Specification

To meet the requirements of a destination country, you may need to provide specification that declare information such as origin, production, labelling, health claim status and microbiological information.

Quality assurance

In order to assure quality, production sites that produce health products must have strict procedures in place for distribution records, product recalls and for the handling, storage and delivery of their products.

Registration

In order to register health products, we help companies to improve the quality of their dossiers, and thereby increase the chances of product acceptance by national authorities.

Legalisation

Legalisation is the process of authenticating a document so that a foreign country’s legal system will recognize it as valid. Many countries require legalisation of export documents before your products can be shipped.

Mutual recognition

The principle of EU mutual recognition means that when a product is lawfully marketed in one Member State it can be placed on the market in another Member State. It also means that a Member State cannot forbid on its territory the sale of products that are lawfully marketed in another Member State. To ensure the free movement of goods, the principle of ‘mutual recognition’ can be an effective instrument. However, the principle is not well understood and is often not applied correctly by EU Member States and companies.

Some examples of our work

Here is a selection of a few projects we were responsible for and really enjoyed working on. The projects interfaced with many aspects of production of dietary supplements like vitamins, minerals,  herbal preparations, omega oils and patented specialty supplements. Or the marketing of functional products like sports nutrition, slimming food, super fruit shakes, medical food and kids nutrition. And of course the market access of traditional herbal medicines, medical devices, medical food, beauty supplements and cosmetics. Over the years, we have worked on a wide variety of projects for many different international clients. Often we were hired to help support product development, legal communication and export registration. But last few years our expertise and attention is moving towards the 2.0 aspect of health marketing. On hand hand because of the trend of integrating social media and affiliate programs for effective community marketing and sales activation. On the other due to the fact that consumers are more connected to products and packaging that are interactive and stimulate their senses whether it be through multi-panel labelling, tactile coatings/inks, embossing, foil stamping, or promotional QR codes. This is why we get very involved with the full product life-cycle and more often our input is part of a much larger project.
